Saint Peter Chrysologus, Bishop and Doctor

Fasting is the soul of prayer, almsgiving is the lifeblood of fasting.

Known as 'golden-worded' for his eloquent preaching, he was the Bishop of Ravenna and a strong defender of the Incarnation.
